Liversedge U13A were away today in a league encounter with Drighlington. Liversedge batted first and put on a splendid batting display reaching a record-breaking 200 for 2 (Dan Cross 28*R, Cameron Feather 26*R, Jalil Akbar 26*R, Zach Wood 25*R, Nicholas Richardson 26*R and Nadeem Sayeed 26*R). In return Drighlington were restricted to 41 all out (Jake Hamilton 2wkts, David Fisher 3 wkts, Ben Walker 3 wkts). A convincing win and an all-round performance, not to mention the 3 immaculate catches by Matthew 'safe-hands' Haigh. |

Prior to the Liversedge A fixture with Wakefield Thornes A the team are pictured in the new Training Kit kindly sponsored by Fibre Extrusion Technology through Jeff Cross - Thank You FET and Jeff from all the senior playing members. Congratulations go to Gavin Harrison on his Maiden Senior Half Century. His was the highlight of a fairly indifferent team performance, which saw the young side go down yet again. Gavin ended up with an excellent 74 before unselfishly holing out to a superb catch at Long On.Euan Hardcastle provided an excellent partner for Gavin followed by older brother Jamie Hardcastle who chipped in with some valuable runs. Liversedge A 189 - 8 Wakefield Thornes 190-3 Before we are sued for misrepresentation the term "Young Side" does not include the 106 years of experience in Mr Steve Atkin (priceless 30 runs) and Mr Brian Richardson (Modelling Cricket Gear). Come on fellas we know what we have to do to put it right!!! |
